What I Love and Hate About the Olympics
I love the Olympics! I always have, but now i can tell people about why. I always love the opening ceremonies and watching all those hardworking people give it their all is so awesome. It's amazing to see the young contestants compete, I can't imagine working my entire life for something and going to my first Olympics, and only have worked 16 years for it! Because I mean some of the older athletes have trained for 20-30 years to be in the Olympics time and again and then there are some really young competitors and it blows everyone away. But one of the things I don't like is that NBC cuts out a lot of the events and even puts COMMERCIALS in the middle of some of the events. Like you'll be watching an event and BAM a commercial for some crappy new TV show with Matthew Perry in it will come on. Like really? You had to make even MORE money off the entire thing by just cramming commercials in wherever you can? Is nothing sacred? Also another thing I don't like is that the commentators never be quite! During the gymnastics they're always talking about the athlete or about their outfit or something completely irrelevant. Who cares?! Just let us watch the event and listen to the music! All in all, even though there are some bad parts the Olympics are such a great event and I don't even leave the house when they are on.

30 Rock Praise (Part 1 of 2)
Enough of ranting! My new favorite TV show is 30 Rock. By far. 30 Rock is superbly written and is always coming up with fresh content for Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin. Jane Krakowitz fits her character, Jenna Maroney so well because she just seems like the person she plays in the show. All of the acting is great, including Tracy Morgan, even though he plays a goofy, delusional, washed up movie star. His character is great because he always says something completely backwards and weird and is always doing something that causes problems for Liz Lemon. The writing for the show is amazing like I said before, Tina Fey plays such a quirky, odd, and problem filled character that fits so well with Alec Baldwin's problem solving, high class business man. They are such a dynamic duo even though they have never dated and never will. Their relationship is symbiotic because Jack Donaghy (Alec's Character) and Liz (Tina's character) need to each other to solve each other's problems. Without Liz, Jack goes crazy with the need to help someone else's life and be their mentor, and without Jack, Liz has so many unsolved problems that she just lets herself go and is a real wreck. I will continue my review of 30 Rock in my next post, coming in about 2-6 days.

Crime TV Shows
Am I the only one hates the new crime tv shows? None of it is interesting, it's just about women getting raped or tortured. Can't TV show writers be a little creative? We want to see some interesting television with a good plot and good characters. I haven't seen A good crime TV show in a long time. Most shows now just focus on people getting tortured but never really change the plot of the episode. They just change the location, the names and the methods, never really changing the structure of the show. The episodes almost always end with the Police or FBI team saving a victim at the last second before he or she is about to be killed. The show that least surprises me every time I watch it and never seems to change is Criminal Minds. This show never changes its episodes plots and it is full of women getting raped and tortured. I do however think that CSI: Miami is occasionally interesting and veers away from the stereotypical crime TV show structure.
